I worked for them for four years, all they care about is money! I complained and took action over my CD over charging. She charged an elderly client £450 to remove a thorn from a cats pad - charged out GA, surgical pack etc only used sedation and a green needle!!! She also added deleted items in the composite pricing and added them on manually to add more to the cost. She would then try to make her notes fit! When I complained to powers that be AND every other team member did the same nothing was done!!! Myself and other rvn left as couldn't take it anymore! Believe me you are not on your own!!

The amount of cardboard Centasur/mwi use is stupid. at least nvs have started to take their waste back.

So true regarding the packaging!

We're about a month in and coping. We stocked up a few weeks before and getting used to what stock levels we can manage with. We've swapped to Merlin computer system too which seems to randomly alter our stock quantity levels. We're doing visual checks now and not relying 100% on the auto add feature, which always worked better on Voyager.

We had a controlled drug order release, which got delivered on a none scheduled delivery day and a few rep orders as extra delivery days which we did not request. Not very environmentally friendly!

not gone down very well in our practices, complaints with clients, as for saving the planet, maybe they should have a look into the amount of packaging it all comes with!!!!

I don't believe it either - agree with Apache somewhere behind this will be money but playing the 'green' card makes it look so much better.

its a bit like supermarkets and plastic bags. Was talking to the Asda delivery driver today. Since they dropped using plastic bags the deliveries take longer but they aren't allowed any extra time - he gets 6 minutes per drop which in my case with the £40 min shop is ok but say he gets somebody with £140 shop who wants to check off each item ( which isn't so easy because they dont offer a paper receipt anymore either unless you want to print your own) then that delivery will be taking a lot longer than 6 minutes - but again playing the 'green' card.... And seriously who doesn't reuse plastic bags? I'm now having to buy rubbish bags - so somebody still has to produce plastic bags

You don't really believe that, do you?

The ONLY reason will be money. They must have negotiated savings on delivery or increased discount by having fewer deliveries. That must be a significant figure to make the extra stock holding worthwhile.

We've had ours a while now, had no warnings or anything. Were just told when we called asking why our order hadn't turned up. Its very awkward and annoying and not everyone had space for extra stock - especially when near stock take you don't want extra stock in. IVC has done it for green purposes, there was an article talking about how many trucks it would take off the road daily so they've done it for that reasoning.

We had an email ages ago telling us we would be swapping to twice weekly but haven’t heard anything further for a while. No idea when it’ll happen or what days we’ll be given.
Apparently it’s for environmental reasons so we heard. Pretty sure each practice will order more each time, leaving less space in the vans and meaning more trips back and forth to the wholesaler in between orders so not sure how it’ll help but who knows, maybe I’m just cynical

Yes, our IVC practice have had to do it for a while now. We had to warn the clients that they would need to give us more notice for repeat prescriptions and most of them have been pretty good about it. We are allowed to do emergency orders if we have to on other days (which kind of defeats the object of the whole thing). In reality, we just end up having to have more stock on the shelves all the time so that we don't run out of things! Not really sure what IVC think they have gained by the whole thing.....

I'm not a fan of the decision, but I think we can make it work, we use a lot of the automatic ordering on our practice management system, it just the horror of not having the safety net of next day delivery. I can't find anyone talking about it though, I'm beginning to think we are the only IVC practice being swapped to twice weekly delivery!

Who ever made that decision should go around each and every surgery and explain their rationale. No sane Veterinary based executive would think that up, unless they're completely out of touch of course....

I agree with you completely. We are looking at clearing more space to hold consummables and flea/wormers. Next stock take is going to be a nightmare. We are warning clients now of the changes and to give 48 hours notice for repeat prescriptions, but we all known that will go unnoticed.

Sounds like a recipe for holding much more stock value and ended up pissing off clients when you run out of things. I don't understand how we can sell 5 boxes of Incurin one morning and none for a week.
