Julie-Anne Wilson actually, it's just the second of those things at the moment! They can't actually remove you from the register for not doing CPD (unless as part of the disciplinary process).

There is a recommendation in the RCVS Legislative Reform Consultation for introducing the need for revalidation (https://www.rcvs.org.uk/news-and-views/our-consultations/legislation-working-party-report/part-5-modernising-rcvs-registration/) and making revalidation dependent on CPD.

I think as long as you've covered your CPD and paid your dues, you stay on the register. They can't penalise people for not working enough hours or any hours for that matter. Plenty in this career are off a lot due to stress and plenty off longterm on illness.

I was on the register for a while without being employed as a vet nurse when I was coming back to nursing and I just made sure to do CPD.
