I have now added points scoring so that when you click the vote up for down for a forum post, the poster is given 10 points for an upvote and -20 points for a downvote. I'm going to test this out now, so if you see I have been voting you up or down, that's why. Nothing personal!!

Ben Ogden I am looking into this some more. I know that you can subscribe to a daily or weekly digest of new content to a group, eg anaesthesia. But it would be a pain to go round subscribing to all of those individually. I am looking to see whether you can subscribe to a parent group (eg clinical) and the digest will include all the sub-group content - the techies (who are on the other line) think not, so I am trying to find an alternative solution.

Also whilst I’m here, is there a way to have a email round up?

I don’t often make it on VetNurse and will miss forum topics quickly. Is there a way to get a weekly email of ‘hot’ posts, new this week or something like that?

an email like that would prompt me to ‘check it out’, particularly if the topic has a grabbing title (I know you can’t control that part....)

No worries, is there a way to quantify post quality? People could look to achieve points posting a lot of bile or responses that don’t contribute.

Also, I find myself reaching a post that someone has answered precisely how I would have, there’s value to the poster for me agreeing (points), but is there value to me for throwing the ‘agree’ out there.

I quite like seeing posts that ‘x’ amount of people have agreed with (or disagreed), it helps me assess the wider quality of the post. Minimum points (limit amount per thread) might encourage people to not ghost around threads and actually contribute, even if it’s just a reaction to a post/response.

Thanks Ben. I'll keep this one open for discussion of the points system. I'd really like to know whether everyone likes the sound of this kind of competitive element to encourage more good quality discussions, support etc.
