WHY didnt I think of this before??

tried the nicely nicely approach ie 'look Jas isnt this good - see even Morris likes it ' just in time to see him disapear under the bed. I swear if this cat could flick a v at me he was doing it big style.

waited for him to put in an appearance again and smeared a bit on his paw while he was sleeping - result = I have both of the throws off setee and chair in the washer. Mixed some with some liver pate, went down ok I suppose but dont know if he will fall for that one again. My arms are shredded, my legs not much better. I know exactly who is the boss in my flat ...... it isnt me

its so easy when you are working to deal with even the worst raging beast - bit different when its your own!

Re: lactulose and cats

Hee hee!
Ooops hope you don't get too covered in lactulose!

Felix has to be thrown into the cat carrier by me, but goes straight in for my husband, figures.

Hope he is feeling better soon!

Re: lactulose and cats

I wish! - Morris is so dim he will eat or take anything (even drontal is a treat to Morris). This cat was very well behaved when he was in the vets earlier today - get him home and he reverts to form!

Battle will recomence in the morning.

and for a cat that I practically had to throttle to get in the carrier to go to the vets - he has now decided to go to sleep in the same carrier

Re: lactulose and cats

I find giving them the 2mls over a period of time in smaller doses works just as well and is less messy. :) right in the gob.

Re: lactulose and cats

i find if its mixed with 1ml of a/d they tend to tke it alot easier.

Re: lactulose and cats

whatever the dose is, i.e what you have to actually give the cat, in my own personal experience, I tend to use 1ml more than stated.

In most cases, you can be sure that after the splattering of hair face etc, the cat should (hopefully) have got the 2ml dose!!
