The other thing I have been struck by over on VetSurgeon is that forum

RE: VetNurse Newsletter and the general direction of travel ...

Sal the 1st - meant to say that just because I am trying to drive a higher standard of clinical discussion, doesn't mean there isn't room for light-hearted relief. How about this, for example. Me making an idiot of myself again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQic3yv8Y9w

(By the way, I just need 170 more subscribers and I'll start being paid a few pennies for my efforts by YouTube, so if anyone enjoys reviews of the latest gadgets, toys and tech for adults, either for yourself or as presents for family/boyfriend/girlfriend, do please help me over the line!)

RE: VetNurse Newsletter and the general direction of travel ...

I do think this is a good idea as there is a lot of information on Facebook at the moment that is either incorrect or outdated and what everyone used to do may not be the best way today with more research currently being done so remains a reliable source of information.

RE: VetNurse Newsletter and the general direction of travel ...
really sorry Arlo but for me you are killing us off. The whole thing about facebook being popular is that people can chit chat on there - like they used to be able to here once upon a time. I don't come on here to be serious all the time - where is the light relief?
Sal the 1st - Hang on a moment there, I never killed you off. I never said people couldn't chit chat here. What happened is that people decided they wanted to chit chat over on facebook. I have recognised that people made that decision (which I was quite sad about, actually), and took a very long and hard look at VetSurgeon and VetNurse, and what their role should be in the facebook era. I concluded that given most people want to chat on Facebook, I need to add value in other ways. And the one way that I can do that is to provide a better platform for clinical discussions, where we elevate expert opinion above opinion which is otherwise often ill informed on Facebook.

So really, you've got things in the wrong chronological order there, Sal. The order was not: Arlo kills off light hearted discussion > everyone moves to Facebook > The end.

It was: Facebook launches > Everyone moves to Facebook > Arlo looks for other ways that VetNurse can support the profession and introduces things like expert forums, whereupon > more people return for the higher standard and quality of discussion on VetNurse.

That is the aim, anyway.

RE: VetNurse Newsletter and the general direction of travel ...

really sorry Arlo but for me you are killing us off.
