I realised that, Nick But why suddenly now, in the last 6 months to a year, a huge run on students doing surveys to back up the argument in their dissertation?

Hasn't that always been the case? Or perhaps not?

Jessica Warrington - I'm really interested to know whether as students are starting to notice that it's getting harder to get people to do surveys, because of survey fatigue?

And can't a dissertation be based on something other than a survey (I never went to university, so it's a genuine question).

I too am not trying to be difficult Jessica, I just think the number of surveys being conducted is not sustainable, and someone should tell the tutors.

This is correct, we are required to do 'new' topics that haven't been covered in great detail so information is hard to obtain from other sources so often surveys are required :D

Hi, we are all required to collect some form of data to analyse for our dissertation and for most people who aren't currently in placement I guess surveys are the easiest option to get lots of quick results? In my personal case there is a complete lack of information on my topic so I'm required to do a survey to obtain information and I guess places like this pose great opportunity to get lots of results from the right sample. Hope that helps, the Vet Nurse population is hard to target without places like this :)

Jessica Warrington - I'm genuinely interested to know why there has been a sudden explosion in the number of people doing surveys for their dissertation.

I'm getting asked all the time to share these things on our Facebook feed, and I know various facebook groups have now banned them - not because people want to be difficult, but because so many people are asking.

Have you any thoughts, and any ideas how we might stop the flood of surveys?
