Neither was a difficult process. Assuming you have things like autoclave service records, health and safety policies, various SOPs.

They come out and tick things off and then email a list of things they may need to see that you don't have immediately to hand. I had to download the temperatures off a fridge data logger and email over some autoclave pressure test records IIRC.

The colleges are desperate for people to become training practices so they will take your hand through the process. Nothing to be frightened of, and everything you need to do is good practice, even if you don't currently do it!

RE: Becoming a TP

not a PSS practice. Was looking at CAW but seems hellishly complicated - I thought ages ago it wasn't worth the hassle but seems even worse now! If so you will have to do practically nothing. There were no specific costs other than time involved for us.
Costs for setting up as a TP vary depending on the college. Some charge fees, some don’t depending on their policies. There are some key resources that are needed to be a full TP, if you don’t have all of these you could be an aTP (your SVNs would need some secondment to a full TP to get the experience your practice could not provide in that instance).

An RVN or MRCVS would need to be trained as a clinical coach, this is normally done via your college. They would then be responsible for overseeing/teaching/assessing practical skills within the practice.

There are three different qualifications now, all have a slightly different way of recording practical skills (new versions of green book/paper portfolio/E portfoliI, depending on what you did ). And not forgetting the degree route, assuming you are talking about training SVNs through the L3 Dip

Hope this helps, and not too waffly
