&lt;p&gt;The fees you pay to the UC can be punitive if you are not working much but they are dealing with all your taxes etc so you don&amp;#39;t have to worry about filing to HMRC as self employed/Ltd Co. UC charges definitely differ from company to company and the one I&amp;#39;ve been recommended again and again is Purlieus Consulting. They account their fees from the net income not the gross (I believe) so you are better off. Plus they are UK domiciled (some UC are Offshore registered and should be avoided like the plague as theya re not necessarily UK tax compliant. Any discrepancies in your tax reporting and it is YOU that HMRC come after...).&lt;/p&gt;
