Do you have a group or organisation that will repurpose them? It breaks my heart throwing these things away.
In the future we plan to use a few and grow some veggies for the exotics we get in clinic but we have also put them up on facebook and people have taken them. I have one of the big, big ones that I have slotted inside a plastic box and made an insulated outside cat box out of which Chalky the semi feral is happy enough to use, I have another in the garden called the Hedgehog Hilton it has been in use a couple of years now, lovely and dry and warm and full of dry leaves and straw and whatever this years guest has dragged in there

I have some of these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT0Y76_RKlk , we use them for packing delicate aircraft parts and instruments up at the hangars, I use them for transporting warm food for homeless outreach (put a box inside them rather than them inside a box) - as you can see I hardly ever chuck them out. The coolpacks that come with them are great for lunchboxes, cool bags, the outreach group or we keep some to wrap around insulin boxes when owners come to collect insulin in warm weather
