PRS call us periodically to check if we have a radio or speakers on our computer capable of playing music and did we realise it is an offence to play music without a licence - in fact last time they called they asked why we didn't have a radio - my response was 'because of miserable gits like you' he soon got off the phone.

You're probably unlikely to get shopped though (unless you have a business phone near the theatre that someone might one day answer to a cold caller recording the fact they can hear the music in the background... or someone catches your receptionist unawares doing a "survey" of favourite radio stations at work...).

I can, though, understand why lots of workplaces choose not to allow staff to listen to radio...

Personally it would annoy me having a radio on.

we could always have a sing song round the theatre table I'm not quite Nina Simone but there are a few songs I can belt out quite well - ...

If any of our lot are reading this bet it won't be too long before the radio is back

I used to work with a dyed in the wool old school vitniry who had a reel to reel tape machine in the op theatre playing original recordings from the radio (he called it "the wireless" ) of 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'...

I also used to scrub clean and then cook (yes, COOK in an oven) the plastic syringes for reuse...

Latest offering is the new Sonos Bluetooth speaker, which yes, I know, is pretty spenny on a vet nurse's wage, but perhaps interesting for the practice to buy for the operating theatre, or nudge parents!

I have a couple of those egg timers - forget Amazon the pound shop have them I love watching honest reviews, - one of my favourites is Antonella the uncensored reviewer (but not keen on the sweariness). Look forward to seeing more of your reviews
