E.g. what kind of tutorials you do, how you demonstrate skills, what you do to assist them and keep them motivated etc

RE: Clinical coaching style

Firstly I will do an induction and talk through what tasks to start with and how we plan to progress through the placement i.e. we won't start with anaesthetics! I try and sit down weekly with my student and fill out a form (we take students from Harper Adams) so they provide you with tutorial forms. I then send internal messages on the computer system to give ideas of what cases to look out for, reminders on what to focus on etc. It's a really good idea to get the whole team involved so that all the pressure is not on one person. In terms of motivation, i have been lucky and had two really motivated student! Allocating them time in work to log helps so that they do not feel de-motivated having to log hours worth of tasks at home.

Hope that helps!
