There is a handbook you can download from RCVS that tells you what you need to do, I have copied the text below:

Restoration - Period of Supervised Practice guidance for veterinary nurses

If you are returning to the Register of Veterinary Nurses after a period of 5 years absence or more, you will need to undertake a Period of Supervised Practice (PSP) before you are able to apply to restore to the Register. Full details are included within the PSP Handbook (see the 'Related documents' box).

To apply to register for the PSP please complete the application form which can be found within the PSP Handbook. Please note that you must apply to register for the PSP, pay your fee and have your registration confirmed by the RCVS before you are able to start your PSP. You will need to supply a copy of your valid passport or EU ID card.

If you have any queries about the PSP please contact the Veterinary Nursing Department on 020 7202 0788 or vetnursing@rcvs.org.uk.

https://www.rcvs.org.uk/registration/maintaining-your-registration/voluntary-removal-and-restoration/vns-voluntary-removal-and-restoration/

The benefit to the practice employing you is in 17 weeks they get a experienced and qualified nurse whilst helping you get back up to speed. It's got to be mutually beneficial to both you and the employer.

Good luck
