Get a picture & editorial in the local newspaper, we do this regularly for different things & the public love a sad story with a happy ending. Even if doesn't rehome the cat, it will give your practice good publicity!

You would be amazed... we have a mum and 4 kittens found being kicked around in a box about 2 weeks ago, currently kitts are about 5 weeks ish but we still only have waiting homes for 2 (maybe 3!) of them after sticking it in reception... and Mummy is only a baby herself and needs a loving home :(

Not aware we have a blue cross near us? Have thought about clients but none spring to mind that might take him.

If I could keep him myself I would but I have 3 cats already and my fiance will leave me if I bring anymore home

I done this before LoobyLou - I rang them and pressed the option 'if you have a stray cat etc etc', it went straight to answerphone so I rang them straight back and pressed the 'home one of our cats' option and it was answered straightaway

Quite frankly, that did not surprise me. Yes, I know different offices possibly for different departments etc, but not over here as it is quite small.

I used to support them a lot, but in my opinion, other than the neutering scheme which they do - which is fantastic of course, they do nothing else to help anyone - be it a veterinary practice or the general public - they are told just to 'deal with it'.

Your cat sounds beautiful!! Any pics??? I am way too far away to help you but I am sure he will get a loving home! Out of all the stray cats that cross our path, isnt it amazing that there is always a special one who comes along every now and again and just pulls at the old heart strings!!

in my experience with CPL they have never taken a stray cat from my area in years.

They are so full with all the FIV +ve and sickly cats to take on any healthy ones

Well what would I know I only breed bengals hehe and i've not seen him so I'm only guessing and techically he's a moggie at the end of the day! no papers no bengal , but personally... don't let the bengals know but i love the mogs just the same!!! I will put an alert out for you on the breeders list and see if anyone is up your way. let me know if your plans change for him so I can remove the alert. If you could email me a picture and some details about him it would be very helpful. Hope this helps.

We'll agree to disagree on that one as he def looks like part bengal to all the nurses

Have contacted CPL, RSPCA and all of out local rescues, no one can take him. A couple have said check again after the weekend but cant promise anything.

We're in the high peak, 20 minutes south east of stockport !

ah so he's a tabby. :) the markings of bengals actually come from shorthairs! not from the wilde cats they are linked to. there are brittish shorthairs and american shorthairs with the same markings and no bengal in them. :) Did you contact the CPL? Where are you located I can ask round for you with the breeders I know if you'd like. sometimes they have room in their catteries for short stays. :)

He looks just like a bengal but slightly smaller! Has all the typical markings etc and is very muscly. I was given details of bengal rescues but was told they wouldnt help if he's not full bengal.
He was also found in an area near to where a very dodgy bengal breeder used to be based!
