At the suggestion of another student, I keep an "analog" NPL notebook on me at all times where, when I do something loggable, I jot down the patient details, ID number, date and a quick description of what I did. It's working nicely so far as it's quick and doesn't need a computer, and I can log things properly later on without worrying I've abandoned my post! x

RE: NPL question

[quote user="bumble bee"]Unfortunately your employer is not obligated to give you time to do your NPL loggings.
We are encouraged do log/ do college work when we are at home, with the mind set your at work to work. If it's quiet I will write down my patient ID numbers so I can log npl at home. Our practise is just too busy to have student npl/study sessions especially when it's a multi-student practice but on the very rare occasion it is quiet usually on national holidays when theyres no routine surgeries) we have slipped away to do a little npl logging.

Also I find I can never concentrate at work as the phone is always ringing or someone needs help restraining.
