Below are some websites with good resources on EBVM. Aimed at beginners, they are easy to follow. I still use them and I'm nearly 6 year qualified.

https://knowledge.rcvs.org.uk/home/ - RCVS site on EBVM including a tool kit on how to answer clinical questions using the best evidence.

https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/cevm/ - Centre for Evidence Based Veterinary Medicine

http://www.ebvmlearning.org/ - specific to veterinary

https://www.students4bestevidence.net/ - group of nursing, medical and other health care students interested in EVM. Deals with mostly human health but some good resources for critiquing studies, journal articles etc.

I set my student simple EBVM tasks. I give her a topic to research. Something we use daily. Surigical scrub techniques, storage of fluids, re-autoclaving times etc. She researches the topic using the online Veterinary Nursing Journal resource, text books and studies and comes back to me with her findings. Might be worth doing something similar yourself.

Our Vet is keen to start a journal club. Find an article or study that you found interesting, critique it and present your opinion. Be honest and don't feel embarrassed as EBVM is a skill that takes practice and sometimes years to prefect. I plan to keep unit 7.3 open until my student is ready for OSCEs.
