So I used to work for vetfone and I have to be honest and say I didn't enjoy it. You don't just do health related calls. You get a lot of people calling regarding their insurance with Q's that you aren't allowed to answer and they then get frustrated with you. I also had to do petlog calls which were fine. Also had to take calls for a central reception for a group of vet practices in Texas and had numerous issues with understanding what the people were asking and them understanding me! Yes we both speak English but American is very different! Things may be different now so don't just take my word for it.

Training wise I had to go to head office in Surrey for one orotwo days, i cant remember. You are then assigned a specific nurse to teach you how to work the computer system and then you do practice fake calls and then go live and then she listens in and then comments how good (or bad) you were.

Evening shifts were much busier than the days and at times I was still writing my notes when another call came in.

The health calls are very structured in what you are allowed to say, I had flow charts to follow to decide my outcome but if I disagreed (which I did quite often) I just told them to call their vets. You have to be careful in the wording you say as you can't tell them to make an ap you have to say call their vets.

Like I say it wasn't for me so maybe I'm not the best person to listen to! What I will say though is that the boss, Nigel, is lovely and very supportive.

Maybe email them and see what they say
