So there was the Schedule 3 consultation in 2017

Which as far as I can see saw the proposal looking at postgraduate education for vet nurses that only closed a few months ago

I think clearly the education and training side needs sorting first and that will take time. Modules structures need to be decided, universities need to accredit to run the courses and people need to actually do them. It took years when RCVS moved over from the old vet certificates to the new CertAVP system.

I very much doubt that the base skills of a vet nurse will change, just you will be able to do further study and hopefully be allowed to do more based on that study. I complete the consultation and think it sounds like an excellent idea.

This won't be a fast process.

The RCVS isn’t able to change legislation, they can just reccommend that the government amends it. I think the government is a bit busy right now.
