Does anyone have an SOP on what to do during a fire if there is an op on the table?
Thanks!

RE: Fire SOP

On my other computer but along the lines of:

1. If alarm sounds establish what is happening (tests should be notified first, false alarms, faults)

2. If genuine incident then all non-essential staff to evacuate. May fight fire if safe to do so and call 999.

3. Decision to stay lies with the individuals involved with support from directors if appropriate

4. Consider completing operation if close to end (consider staples) or abandoning procedure if not started

5. Consider propofol infusion and ventilation with self-inflating bag and evacuate to continue surgery in another building or transport animal to another practice to complete operation.

6. If immediate threat to personnel exists and moving the animal creates additional risk then euthanise on the table.

Ideally isolate any source of oxygen if safe to do so upon leaving the building.
