I studied VN in Southern Europe from 2011-2014, the university I went to is ACOVENE accredited, but only from 2015 onwards, and I finished my course in November 2014 so I can't directly register with RCVS yet. After asking for my case

RE: PSP / PSA Period of Supervised Adaptation questions

Hi,

thank you so much for all the help!

I have a few more questions, if that's okay.

I think they would've mentioned the OSCES if I needed to take them, but I'm not sure. Did they tell you you had to take them when they reviewed your case?

Was what you earned as a student enough to pay for rent, bills etc? Just wondering how much I need to take with me (haven't figured our the bank stuff yet - probably can't use my portuguese card there).

Thanks again. :)

RE: PSP / PSA Period of Supervised Adaptation questions

Hi!

I had to do the same when i first arrived in UK.
I am french but qualified in Australia. So basically, I had to work under the PSA and do a minimum of 1200 hours in a clinic in UK. Then, in order to get registered, I had to undertake the practical OSCEs. It is roughly the same as the original one but slightly different (easier).

When you look for a job in UK, just let them know your situation. Explain about the PSA (most of the clinics will know about it) and the number of hours you need to do. Contact RCVS again about the OSCEs, maybe you don't need to do it. It depends where you trained, where your qualification is from and how many hours you did during your training.
I did my PSA in 2 different clinics, I was paid as a student nurse as i wasn't technically qualified for UK.

Hope this helps! Any other questions, just let me know!
Good luck!
