I think they probably expected everyone to think aww how cute the young boy was trying to care for thepuppy and just over looking the actual issues of why him and his brother were left alone with them long enough to take the puppy for a walk and flush it down the toilet

but then if the puppy had died it wouldnt have made the news at all because that wouldnt have been newsworthy - call me cynical

ps there are a few comments appearing on various sites where people are also angry at this - so at least there are members of the public feeling the same way

its strange that in all the reports that i have read nobody seems bothered by it, its more of a "and finally " news story, if u know what i mean. it says the rspca were there helping to rescue it but nothing further

probably going to get slammed for this comment - but I am going to make it anyway.

The puppy was missing for around an hour before it was even noticed according to several reports - so obviously the pups werent being checked ? The children had taken a week old puppy for a 'walk in the garden' according to 2 other reports - so who was responsible for that? a) if the mother of the children knew that this was happening just how has this represented responsible behaviour towards either the children or the welfare of the pups? b) if the mother of the children didnt know that this was happening - to me this indicates that maybe she isnt able to 'manage' her multiple offspring so having a litter of the puppies in the house also needing attention is a definite non starter.

Just makes you wonder how the children will turn out when they are older?

So bloody angry at this

just been on the news puppys are not cockers unless l need my eyes treated as they showed the pups mother (admitedly l do not have great eyes and never look at tv with glasses so l do have to pear at it hard). The puppies had collars on and looked older than 1 week but hard to say as only saw pup side on. And as the owner was a prolific breeder herself who had passed on parts of her ownly brain cell it was not a surprise it had happened.

My first thought was that too and then why the hell was a four year old left alone with the puppy long enough to do such a thing!!! I hope they took those pups off those people...
