Ours does too. I told the boss and the other vets but it was mostly kept from the staff until I was ready to tell them when I was further along. That way I wasn't asked to do x-rays or other risky jobs.

Reminds me of when I was a student and a client said to the owner of the practice "you seem very busy at the moment.". "It's a nightmare" he said "I've got 6 of my vets pregnant". Think he could've phrased it a bit better.

Congratulations!

Legally you don’t have to tell them until around 25weeks however I told my employer and team as soon as I found out. That way I didn’t have to worry about masked anaesthetics, big bouncy dogs etc (I knew as soon as I avoided these people would guess anyways) I did wait until 12 weeks to officially announce it to our other branch but I’m pretty sure everyone knew by then

First off ... Congratulations! Second off... Asap so you're protected and cosseted and loved to bits for cooking a little bun in your oven!! Plus, it gives your boss plenty of time to make suitable staffing arrangements as is necessary.
