I have just been offered a job at a 24h hospital/referral practice but don't feel good enough or up to the job.
I am used to working in small animal general practice

RE: ADVISE!!!

would there be an option of taking a weeks holiday at your current practice and doing a weeks work trial ?- that way you can see how they work and they can see how you work

RE: ADVISE!!!

Hiya, it's different being a locum to a permanent staff member in as much a locum is expected to know the ropes because they've been hired to fill--in. Up and running from the start. As a permanent staff member, you (should), get invested in, with training, as you're there for the long haul. I've done both and that was my experience.

So, say what you can't, yet, do and say what you need more practice in and get the training and experience you need!

Clearly at interview the practice understood what your current level of experience is, so they're happy to bring you up to speed with their own training.

You'll be fine

Have fun.

Hope this helps.
