Love that jobs advertising on this site offer their salary guidelines in advance so we know what to expext. Shocking that some are still so low and dont reflect a university qualification with associated expenses, years of experience, plus the demands of a job with antisocial hours, shift work, etc.good to see employers advertising their prospective salary, ie fitzpatrick referrals starting salary is 26.5 k+

I was the poster who posted the Wigan salary etc.

And there r a lot worse places then Wigan having worked and lived in some of them.

Having been born and bred in Blackburn which is a dumb I would live anywhere lol.

I have worked in Hull as well as well as some rough areas around Manchester and Liverpool. I think I would rather live in Wigan

Thankfully have never lived in Hull - just short visits for locums, having had all the shots just in case. I am sure it is a very nice place to live but just not for me, I'm rural and not used to the bright lights

30.5 hrs £16,400. 18 days holiday plus bank holidays 1 in 8 full weekends no ooh. Don’t get paid overtime has to be taken back in lieu and I have 20yrs experience. I’m in Manchester and am hoping to find a new position soon

Your £23K in Wigan would go a lot further than £24K in Sussex, but then you'd have to live in Wigan, so I guess a chunk of that may be a bribe just to live there............

South Wales varies so much. Lowest I've seen is £16,500 and highest around £22,000.

I am a locum nurse currently on £17ph days and £20ph nights.

I have been recently interviewing for permanent jobs around my local area and the salaries I was offered are as follows

24k Liverpool 40hrs

23k Wigan 38hrs

20k Bolton 45hours

24k Rossendale 40hrs

22k Chorley 40hr

All of which offered 20days holiday, no ooh or on-call, £300 cpd.

So I do think salaries are getting better. Before I went into locum work I was on 16k so definitely much better...

30 hrs a week. Around £16770 pa, 28 days holiday, unpaid bank holidays. £500 c p d allowance. Occasional weekend work.

£25k, 20 days hol. Meant to work 40hrs over 4 days a week, but the boss sends me home at 5pm instead of 6.30pm! CPD unlimited as long as it benefits clinic. Cardiff.

Scotland, £12ph, 32-47hours per week (variable hence the hourly rate), 214hours holiday per year which I think equates to approx 28 days basic + a few extra for long service. £200 per year CPD.

I’m on approx 21.5k a year we work a 35 hour week within that wage there is a 4% shift premium for unsociable hours. I get 35 days holiday. Hope this helps :-) Birmingham area

I'm pretty sure BVNA does a salary survey every year which you could use :-)
