Ben Ogden I was going to ask what subject you think it should cover (eg anaesthesia) but perhaps, in order to encourage the widest input, it should be just ANY veterinary nursing tip. We can always categorise afterwards, if needs be.

...and a 'what is this?' thread - heheh for those pieces of equipment we find lurking in the back of a cupboard. Pretty handy if you can then find a use for the said tool.

The one that I recall that gave me the biggest satisfaction shudder in finding out what it was, was a 'demasculator' circa 1930. It was HUGE - 3 foot handles and massive crunching 'cups'. Poor beast....

I don't drink, not that keen on chocolate a fiver in the kitty for any cat charity would suit me fine or some doughnuts for a friday cake day at work,( don't worry there are only 8 of us ) - my cunning plan - dieting isn't working but if everybody else in the practice fills out a bit it makes me look slimmer )

Now I've given the new VetNurse Reactions system (agree/disagree/thank you / like) a bit of time to get settled in, I want to start using it to start getting more of you to share useful stuff.

My plan is that we have some specific themed discussion threads where the veterinary nurse that is most thanked for their contribution to the discussion will win a prize.

We also plan to extend this to the galleries, so we might invite everyone to upload cytology pics and then do the same: the one that the largest number of people thank you for sharing wins a prize.

Combined with the 'Claim CPD' function on the site, the message to everyone will be: "Support colleagues, share knowledge, claim free CPD time and win!"

So, where to kick off.

First of all, can anyone suggest best topic for discussion. I was thinking perhaps an area of nursing whether there might be a lot of 'top tips' you could share.

Also which photos the largest number would be most likely to share. Cytology? (this has been raised in the forums a few times).

Lastly, prizes. What do you want to win! Suggestions please, big or small!

And I'm tweaking the forums a tad - some of the navigation could be better ...

Oh, and I've added everyone's CPD record to the main navigation under 'My Account' at the top - want to make much more of the fact that when you're discussing veterinary matters on vetnurse.co.uk, not only might you get a reward for what you share, but you can also claim it towards your CPD requirement!
