All our vets use pevidene scrub and we soon started to notice that it was staining the sink. Has anyone else had this happen? We have tried

RE: Stained scrub sink

Noooooo!
Thank you Sal! We tried the low tech Cif and newspaper and it worked a treat(unlike the fancy cleaner suggested by the sink manufacturer!) Still bugs me that it happens in the first place but at least now when can sort it!

The really good news for you is that unless you have a stash of a shed load of pevidine (or iodine variants) this will soon cease to be a problem anyway

RE: Stained scrub sink

I can make a sink SHINE with toilet cleaner - the bleach/lime scale one you would normal put under the rim of the toilet bowl :)

RE: Stained scrub sink

Thank you Sal!
you can buy it other places too. I like a bit of cif on some scrunched up newspaper - will even shift limescale if you do it regular.

Had to smile at one of the work experiences a few years ago - he had been with us a little while and was busy instructing the new incoming work experience ' you see that sink - she likes to be able to see her face in it - don't let her find it mucky you will never hear the last of it'. Whatever else he didn't take onboard I sure had clean sinks while he was around. (I'm not really that bad - really I'm not)

RE: Stained scrub sink

James Colver Cert.
Those stains will come off with a mild abrasive, you can get specific surgical instrument cleaner but something like Astonish or Cif and a scouring pad. Then clean with detergent, rinse and dry. They apply a coat of furniture wax with a cloth and polish. Will protect the surface.
