Does anyone have any experience with any feline suncreams?
I have a client that bought one (can't remember the name, from NZ I think?) and the cat either had a reaction to the suncream or got burned through the cream so the owner would like

RE: Suncream for cat

Stocked and recommended Filtabac Clear in the past, very good feedback, reasonable cost

RE: Suncream for cat
Hi guys,

Does anyone have any experience with any feline suncreams?

I have a client that bought one (can't remember the name, from NZ I think?) and the cat either had a reaction to the suncream or got burned through the cream so the owner would like to try something else. I've never owned a white animal that needed suncream before so I don't have any experience with any of them so I said I'd ask on here for her.
I think the one you are looking for is called petscreen or similar - I used to sell loads of it but like you I just couldnt remember the name ( maybe their marketing should have a quick think on how they could make the name more memorable?)

The other one I can think of was Filtabac - again a non memorable name

RE: Suncream for cat

Um, zinc oxide is highly toxic to cats if ingested or absorbed... this product has the following ingredients... plus it's only SPF 15...

protection of broad spectrum of UVA and UVB rays using the safe mineral Zinc Oxide - No oxybenzone, octinoxate, or other chemical active sunscreening agents.

I've always stayed away from products containing zinc oxide for dogs and cats (e.g. the much loved 'Sudocrem' !!!)

Having said all this - if you have used/are using it on your own pet without issue, that's your choice. It's just that the OP was wanting something to recommend to a client. So, I feel it needs to be a product that is primarily produced for that species i.e. a cat...

No offence meant to anyone.

Peace.
