True with such a new practice I guess you'll have to review over time with regards future SVN training, ideally I would like to work as an ANA before looking at going into training further ..or not . although I have ambitions it will only b by working back in practice again that I will know if that makes sense . Thanks for your responce and your advice, good luck in finding someone , maybe have some people into practice for work experience over the summer and yiu may find someone who wants to start at the beginning ? Just an idea .

RE: Voluntary VCA/ANA position available - Bristol

Thanks for asking. The practice is relatively new as we only opened in February 2016, so are therefore (in the scheme of things) still very new. We currently have myself (RVN ISFM CertFN & CC) and a SVN who is in her 1st year with Bridgewater college. Unfortunately as things stand at present, there will be no further SVN positions for a few years to come as we are just not busy enough with a large enough case load to facilitate paying for another nursing team member. We are really looking for someone with no or next to no experience within the veterinary field. Our aim really is to give someone the rare opportunity to get 'their foot in the door' so to say, and gain some experience/VCA/ANA qualification, so they can then go on to further their nursing career if they wish (there may be a possibility of this within the Vets4pets group, but would not like to make any promises) We are in Bedminster, Bristol, which is unfortunately some distance from you in North Devon and TBH, as there is no guarantee of obtaining a SVN position with us in the future, i dont feel that re-locating for a voluntary position would be beneficial for you :(

Good luck with your chosen career x

RE: Voluntary VCA/ANA position available - Bristol

Ok cool no problems :-)

Can I ask is this training position for an ANA ? Would there be any future progression to VN training ? ( you may also be interested to know that The Colledge of Animal welfare are starting a new course this Sept it's a NVQ 3 VN training but with a voluntary placement in practice like the degree . All fees are paid by the student. Only catch is students have to travel to London or Leeds one day a week during term time To study at college )

which branch of vets 4 pets are you ? I am in North Devon but would be happy to relocate if necessary

Might be tricky if you can’t fund any training, especially as it’s a voluntary position.

I have already contacted colleges thanks, but thought as many places to advertise as possible could only be of benefit to us

RE: Voluntary VCA/ANA position available - Bristol

Maybe contact local college?
