this makes me happy because the amount of people i know who leave nursing and are generally negative about it gets me down and this is a ray of light. I hope to be nursing as long as you and its good to know you still have that passion!

We all know how elusive those SVN positions are!! really admire your determination to travel that far! Who knows, now you have your feet on the ladder a local TP may be looking for a level 3 SVN and you'll def be able to prove how capable you are!!!!

What a lovely story. Thank you for sharing this. I am 33 now, and been in IT all my life until January this year when i decided to make the change.... and wow what a change it has been and i am LOVING it!

Only last week i started shadowing my own vet (equine) and i think he is slowly getting used to the idea and i am hoping and praying like mad that he will offer me a job as it would just be sooooo perfect. We get along like a house on fire so working for him would be so ideal right now at this stage of my studies.

So hold thumbs for me hehe!

I must say, it helps to just keep going as i am throwing everything at this... my time, energy, money, fuel, you name it, i am throwing myself at it and i can only hope it pays off long term.

A great story! It is so hard to explain how hard it is and how much patience and persistance and effort you have to put in to get a student VN place, to other potential student VN's, and that, yes, some people are lucky enough just to fall into it, but alot of the time, you have to wait years!

Congratulations, Albatross! I hope you enjoy it ( admire you for the amount of travelling!) and it works out for you.
