I work for a brilliant practice with excellent standards but I feel unfulfilled and see no progression or career path.

It's certainly not as fulfilling as nursing but it pays better, better annual leave, paid OT, public holidays and it helps that it's 10 minutes from my house.

I've been trained up in a few different roles such as check in and dispatch and I'm getting training for the traffic office which includes working with weights and figures for their aircrafts which is quite interesting.

It's worth having a look at what's available in your chosen area and seeing whether it's something you would be happy doing. It could also be worth looking at your local college or OU and doing a part-time course into you're next chosen path.

I job hunted for 6 months before I finally started applying for jobs.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do!

RE: what next after vet nursing?

Insurance, Rep, practice manager maybe?

Usually comes with a better wage, excellent standard of nursing, good progression etc.

You could try locumming, there is a good page on here (if anyone knows where it is/has a link?) you could use an agency if you were worried about going it alone!
