I have always done chemotherapy in both first option and hospital practice. I personally don't mind doing it. As long it done correctly and everyone is safe

RE: Chemotherapy

i've just done my first chemo patient for ages at a locum ..they used Chemopet.....use receive the drugs and everything ready to use and include detailed instructions..inc when to put on the PPE ...its great and very different to the first time I used it ...Yeeeeaaarrrsss ago..when no-one knew what they were doing

RE: Chemotherapy

I have done it in 2 practices I have worked in and both were very different in approach! The first practice would sometimes do it in the consult room with clients present and no ppe !!! Can’t help but feel that if a practice is going to do chemo they should have training and all appropriate ppe! And maybe they should be certified to carry it out? Just doesn’t feel very well regulated and I at times have felt very concerned for my own safety!

RE: Chemotherapy

Dont mind doing chemo .
I don't mind doing it and I think it can be really rewarding when things work out well, I know from experience however, that it can feel intimidating if you don't feel confident with what you are dealing with.

I don't remember receiving much training with regards to Chemotherapy as a student?

RE: Chemotherapy

Hiya,

I enjoyed doing it - as you say - so long as you observe strict safety protocols and understand what you're doing! It's not something to do without proper guidance and education...

I also enjoyed working with radio-active iodine patients.

Perhaps I've got a special 'glow' for such odd work... hahaha.
