So I’ve been offered a job at a small referral practice that specialises in orthopaedics, soft tissue, internal medicine and diagnostics. I only qualified at the end of 2017 and am worried that I’ll find the jump a struggle due to my lack of experience

RE: Making the jump from first opinion to referral nursing.

Thanks for the advice! :) I'm hoping to have a similar experience as you have had!

I'll be rotating round the departments so will get to see/do a bit of everything hopefully! All sounds very exciting!

RE: Making the jump from first opinion to referral nursing.

As soon as I qualified in 2015 I went into referral nursing, having never done it before! I have to say I think it was the best thing I could have done! I learnt so much and my practical skills went from 'day 1' basic to better than I could have imagined!

They must want you if they've offered you the job. Don't worry about lack of experience, they will teach you everything you need to know! They are unlikely to just throw you in the deep end! My advice is go for it, enjoy it, and learn loads of interesting and exciting stuff!

Will you be rotating throughout the departments or just with one? x
