Have discovered the problem!

Mrs Dot Dot, all your posts have been to the Site Support forum, which is one that I set NOT to give post points (I'd forgotten I'd done this).

The rational for this was that the Site Support forum is one where people can ask me questions, and when the site opens for real, I don't want to give people an incentive to ask me questions!!! I mean, I am delighted to help, and here to do so, but don't actually want to award points for people asking me questions!

When you post in other forums, your point count will go up.

2. Member points
In addition, we now also display the number of points a member has earned beneath their name in the forum. These points are awarded for all sorts of activity around the website, not just posts. For example:

A post = 1 points
A reply from another member = 2 points
Someone verifying your answer to a forum question = 5 points
Someone downloading a file you have uploaded to a gallery = 2 points (I think).

So points are also dependent on how much you involve other members of the site. If you share a file that everyone wants, you'll get loads of points. If you upload a file noone wants, you won't!

I'll publish a list of the points awarded in due course.
