Anyone for evidence based practice:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1812444

12 months showed no deterioration

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14530104

96 weeks

I'm unaware of any evidence that things stop being sterile after a particular period of time as long as properly packaged and the bag not damaged. If the bag is damaged the day it goes in the cupboard then it's unsterile from the moment that happens.......

We don't routinely re-steralise anything based on this. I'm aware of the dogma, and would love some quality evidence showing me I am wrong.

As per usual Apache, you're an evidence-based saint! We've been doing it every 3 months but I've had the same questions about whether it's worth it.

RE: Resterilising equipment

And so long as it was correctly sterilised in the first place... see my blog for some tips!www.vetnurse.co.uk/.../REVISED_5F00_9_5F00_sterilization.docx

RE: Resterilising equipment

Anyone for evidence based practice:
