So I'm in a position where I've been offered 2 jobs and I'm struggling to decide which to accept. The 2 jobs are very different and I've done a list of pros and cons and I'm still no clearer. I definitely want to leave my current job but I'm so

RE: Huge dilemma - picking between 2 jobs

I had a similar decision. I ended up going for the referral job. I drive 50mins which I do hate. However, I wanted to push myself and I have learnt so SO much. I find it more interesting than general practice and I get to use more of my skills. I do feel I have made the right decision even if the early alarm is rude!!
so is the epic drive worth it in your opinion?
Yes, for definite. I use it as a wind down at the end of the day. My previous job, I walked to work so by the time I got home I was still wired and couldn't settle. Now by the time I'm home I have my 'home' brain on and left the 'work' one somewhere during my journey :) It's easily worth it for the amount of knowledge and experience I've already gained. It's fascinating. Besides, looks good on a cv too ;)

RE: Huge dilemma - picking between 2 jobs
Difficult decision! I can see the appeal of going into referral hospital (I love it!) travelling 30 miles there and back can add up in fuel costs meaning your salary will work out less in the long run - however, some referral offer great benefits like pensions etc.

Do you think you'd get bored in the day practice? I'd always say push yourself, it sounds like the day practice might be too easy for you if you've been qualified for a number of years.
ive been working in emergency medicine for years now so have built up lots of skills and knowledge in this area and am struggling to see if I'd be happy doing routine things again. I've not done a nurse clinic for years and tbh haven't missed them at all!

i think I'm going to take the plunge into referral eeeek!

RE: Huge dilemma - picking between 2 jobs
just a thought... advise the Referral practice you have been offered the other job on the same money but less travel expenses and could they offer you bit more to work with them? As you reeeeeaaaallly want to work with them...
might be worth a try hey! The worst they can say is no

RE: Huge dilemma - picking between 2 jobs
