I'm just wondering which ECC books nurses would recommend? This is just for general interest and reference, not as yet for a course.
Many thanks!

RE: ECC books...... recommendations wanted!

I did enjoy the course as it challenged me to think and research further into topics. It did take a lot of time to complete the coursework. I think they underestimate the time you need to commit outside of work. But the course providers are supportive, which make a huge difference.

On average I would say I spent between 4-8 hours per week, it's all the reading and researching that takes time. I tried to always do an hour after work on weekdays so I could have weekends off.

RE: ECC books...... recommendations wanted!

Thank you both for your replies :-)

Charlie, how did you find the Vets now course? Especially in terms of how many hours you had to commit to it per week?

RE: ECC books...... recommendations wanted!

I recently completed the Vets Now ECC course and they recommended:

Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care for Veterinary Technicians by Battaglia and Steele, Third edition

I used it a lot during the course and really found it helpful. Also it's available through Amazon for a reasonable price which is a bonus!

RE: ECC books...... recommendations wanted!

Check out books and short course by Louise O’Dwyer Paul aldridge
