Hi Guys,
Just looking for a little advice... I have been working at a new practice for three weeks now and I'm very unhappy.
When I was interviewed for the position a few things were withheld from me e.g. how often we're placed on call, the fact

RE: Notice period advice- help!

Hi

The notice period required (by either party) is the longer of the contractual notice OR statutory notice. If you don’t give the required notice, it would be deemed breach of contract, however, most employers are unlikely to do anything about it (as it’s not likely to get them anything). The best thing would be to give notice and ask for a week, they might say yes! If they don’t, then you could could consider how to proceed.

RE: Notice period advice- help!

hiya, aw am sorry things haven't worked out for you but glad you are sorted with another job already.

If you've worked less than one month you don't even need to give Statutory Notice of a week, you can resign on the spot.

Unless there is a clear written clause in your contract of employment stating what penalties will be imposed in the case of not working a full notice period then there is nothing the employer can do about it.

The employer must pay you for the hours you have worked up to date of leaving. They cannot deduct anything (see above).

Hope this helps and my best wishes.
