Even pinning it up in prep can be helpful :)

As far as your input goes it's the responsibility of the student to get involved, get the case details and log everything. If it is that they simply aren't motivated, it may be worth having the "This is your NPL I'm here to help but I'm not doing it for you" chat and speaking with the college.

Cleaning a kennel, approaching a patient, transporting a patient, mopping a floor etc etc. Then sit down with the student and take a look at where these things can be logged. once the student gets the hang of it-hopefully they can come to you with cases. If they are still not doing so, then maybe you need to ask them why. Do they lack confidence? Unsure what is expected of them? Just plain lazy?! Good luck!

RE: Clinical coach and NPL

Goals for your student should be set out at your weekly meeting. You need to discuss what you want your student to be achieving over the 2 week logging period.I had my student looking at his NPL every morning to see if anything would fit into his day.It is hard to fit it in but it shouldnt be up to you to get the cases. Also remind your student that you are not the one that needs the qualification.!! Input from the student is vital otherwise it will run away with them being left behind.Good Luck!!
