Was going to say the same. I mean it doesn't exactly set you up for a good start when you arrive for the first day hating the place!

RE: What to do??

no brainer! if you already think youl hate it and not get support, dont go!

RE: What to do??

replied to your PM Xxxxxx

RE: What to do??

Yes it a hard one for me atm in time. I don't mind travelling in the right direction for a job so I not stuck in traffic due to London commute. But I don't want go to a practice which I will hate and not get the support I need if that makes sense.

Normally we locum out of preference or pending finding the right permanent job, yes? What's making you consider a less than ideal permanent role?

I've worked a permanent job where the salary was fabulous but the environment wasn't (even the hiring boss warned me at interview that I needed to be 'bomb-proof' to survive there!). I worked there doggedly for a few years. It took more than a pound of flesh physically and mentally but my bank balance was good. i also learned a lot of new skills, so improved myself/CV. Wouldn't do it again unless I absolutely had no other financial choice tbh.

So, depends on your circumstances - need the money and have zero other options? Take the permanent role. But know you need to be strong enough to work hard for your new employer even though you are (maybe) unhappy in the role. Fair's fair.

You don't specify what u dislike about the practice. Possible to respectfully change whatever that is, once in the job?

I assume u are searching for a local job over a big commute or relocation (your Commute thread refers)? If u cannot find an ideal role within ur preferred travelling range u will need to consider relocating, for example.

Sounds like you have no easy answer. Hang tough lovely lass.
