it was a good one this morning - one of the regulars presented me with a hovis bread bag of green tomatoes for pickling and some really nice looking shallots - looks like I will be clipping dog nails again this weekend but its a fair swap I guess

bit faster than this mornings journey is going to be 8 miles in just under an hour on an 12 seater bus stopping at virtually ever village in between here and work and a few that aren't as we have roads closed too Will probably be the youngest on the bus by a couple of decades (including the driver) and the usual market day debate 'cant we have something different on the radio?' or 'can you turn that off it makes my hearing aid whistle' and the usual swaps of bags of apples, pears, plums, tomatoes, eggs ( dont think Brexit has affected the exchange rates yet? a couple of weeks ago it was a 1/2 dozen eggs for 2lb of plums) - makes for an interesting journey

I did it even quicker the morning I tripped over the cat who was waiting to ambush me on the top step - so pleased I live in a bungalow these days!

I have a 20 min bus journey to work. If I was to do the 10 mlies in the car it would take me close to an hour to get there.

my fastest journey to work 30secs (but also one of the worst practices I have ever had the misfortune to set foot in) it put me off ever living above the job again

forgot to mention that I relocated from London to Yorkshire. Now *that* was a big 'commute'! (A one way trip. Love it in Gods Country, me, now then...) xxx

have worked locally with a 5 minute car ride or 30 minute walk (different practices). Travelled by car for 90minutes each way (weekend nurse, stayed overnight). Gone by bus for a 30 minute door to door. By train with a walk either end totalling over an hour. Most epic journey was 1. Walk 2. Bus 3. Walk 4. Train 5. Walk. 6 Train. 7 Walk. 2 hours there 2 hours back.

Currently? 45 minutes drive. Hate it. But like my job. Best commute was clearly the 5 minute one, oh it was bliss! (Job was sh*te tho... Hahahaha!!!).

20 minutes. Previous job was 1-2 hours depending on traffic. Could never go back to that now

My journey can be between 1hr-2hrs each way, depending on the traffic and what days I'm travelling. Fri-Sun takes me around 1hr, but during the week anywhere from 1hr15m to 2 hrs.

For me it is worth it to travel this distance for the working hours (nights 3on 5/6 off) and good salary. If I were to be working locally I'd lose around £6500/year and be working many more hours. Luckily my car is very economical and petrol doesn't cost that much.
