Alison Clare Hickman denise laughlin - A little while ago, I decided no more memberships for recruitment agencies.

Your profiles are not visible to non members.

It is, of course, possible for someone to join under false pretences (ie not stating that they are from a recruitment agency). But if they do that, and you only allow contact via the messaging system on vetnurse (ie do not display your email address), then it's much easier for me to remove anyone who sends you an unsolicited message.

So that's my advice. You can use the profiles to create a polished-looking CV. Just don't share your email address, and if you get any dodgy messages, send them straight to me and I will cancel the sender's account immediately.

I know I have said it before but when some of these agencies get hold of your name its a prisoner they never let it go! Rig accidentally sent me a text asking me to submit my hours just a few weeks ago. Last encounter with Rig was 2006! which proves to me in spite of their assurances that somewhere in their system my details are still being held hostage.

These guys are really spamming me right now. Emails, telephone calls, multiple times, told I'm uninterested and yet do not get the message. Just ignoring them now is best policy.

I've been having major issues with them!! multiple emails and then another the next day if I've not replied and they've been sending me jobs for vet surgeons in Australia which is obviously of no interest to me whatsoever! I totally lost my rag with them yesterday and said if they don't stop emailing me i will take further action! I got a reply saying my details have been removed so fingers crossed it's true!

I too had totally unsolicited and unrelenting approaches from Seven vets a little while ago - NOTHING put them off. I just had to junk every email, block every call and ignore everything until they finally gave up. Took about 6 months all told. Like you, nothing I said would stop them and they never responded to me when I asked how they had got my contact details - the only thing I could think it was, I had put my email address on vetnurse in my profile (I hadn't done so previously). As soon as I removed it from my profile I got no further contacts. Connection? Check your profile!

Totally!!! I've never signed up with Seven, yet the constant emails then phone calls were grating on me. I emailed many times to be taken off their mailing list

They phoned us with a candidate, organised an interview on a Saturday after surgery, the candidate cancelled and they didn't bother to tell us. Three member of staff had time wasted and no further communication from Seven.

There are a lot of players in the recruitment agency market, and some seriously dodgy tactics coming out.

(Liberty vets stop sending us lists of job vacancies when we are using you to recruit!)
