Has the collection method been used in other studies so shown to be a reliable method, or was it pilot tested first? Difficult to be more precise without knowing what the study was on. Things like behavioural signs can vary if interpreted differently by different people, surgical prep methods may vary between staff so would need to be standardised whereas a data collection such as temp much less likely to be affected by personnel involved. Hope that helps a bit!!
