I've seen various pet sitting services etc set up and was just wondering where a nurse still registered would stand with regard to treatments

RE: If a vet nurse is registered but not working ...

If working in the public domain without protection from a practice (required to have public liability insurance, which covers employees) you'd also need liability insurance as well - not certain if required but eminently sensible as if sued... Obviously your requirement to keep up with CPD remains. If you are registered, insured and up to date with CPD then you can work as you would in a vet practice. It's your professional registration on the line either way.
