Hi. As of October I no longer work in practice. But when I did I just phoned in HMRC and they advised I could have tax relief on my RCVS registration. Ithe would be the same on any professional subscriptions such as BVNA. They then advised that I would get an allowance for doing this type of job. Which included buying some equipment, shoes and washing own uniform. This was only about a £60 allowance per year. But something better than nothing. I have never paid for my own CPD but I would imagine that would work the same as professional subscriptions. Hope that helps

I claim tax relief on laundering uniform - I think mine is around £60 per year - can be backdated for a maximum of 3 years. Speak to the tax office - its not a lot but its better than nowt.

I claim back bvna and rcvs fees also for laundering uniform. Not sure about uniform etc as work buy ours for us.
