Most things that I have read regarding fireworks are to build a den for the dog to hide in and ask the owner to ignore. If the dog wants to go and hide or howl just let them, any comforting from the owner could make things worse. Adaptil can work for minor phobias but probably wont touch the sides for something more extreme. ACP is a big no no!! But there is a new drug Sileo which is now the only licenced drug for noise phobias. Once through the season I ask owners to come in (late Jan or early feb once Chinese new year is out of the way) to start a counter conditioning and desensitisation training regime for next year.
