In short, it explained to clients what they CANNOT expect from their veterinary practice

RE: NEW RCVS Practice Poster - feedback please!

Thanks everyone - really pleased you like it, because a lot of work went into it, both by the College and at my end.

I shall be passing your feedback to the powers-that-be. I know they'll be chuffed that it's being met with such a positive reaction.

RE: NEW RCVS Practice Poster - feedback please!

Appropriate in strength of purpose and use of language. It doesn't feel 'glossed over' and 'fluffed up' at all. Its straight to the point and clearly defines our role as the professional and the clients role as an owner.

I think the word 'must' has to be used if owners are to take the AW Act seriously. Its the same with any other law...the word 'must' implies there are consequences if you don't comply and yes, we all know there are some people who choose to break the law but there are consequences to that (irrespective of how severe the consequences may be).

Well done RCVS

Peace Out!

RE: NEW RCVS Practice Poster - feedback please!

Take it, Take it, Take it!

On a serious note, we beat this drum daily to each other and clients and it's good to see the RCVS is looking to beat the drum with us!

RE: NEW RCVS Practice Poster - feedback please!

I like it. I think it's bold and succinct enough to be noticed.
Thanks Sal :)
I'm not so sure that the client is going to take so kindly to the pointing out of the animal Welfare Act ( just thinking of some clients I have come across) I think its the 'you must' bit - some people just object to being ordered and see it as a threat if that makes sense but other than that I would use it
Well, the good thing about it is that it's the RCVS pointing out owner responsibilities, not the practice telling telling people what to do (cos it's an RCVS poster). And in fact, it's not even the RCVS telling people what to do, it's the Animal Welfare Act!

So I take your point, but I think anything less than 'must' wouldn't be strong enough.

RE: NEW RCVS Practice Poster - feedback please!

I like it - I think it puts it across effectively in simple terms, I have a A4 sheet on reception on which we have given the reasons why we are not always able to comply with the clients requests re dispensing etc but even when you resort to pointing it out it still doesn't prevent some of the migratory or more persistent types having a go at the poor bleeder behind reception.

I like the idea of expectations and responsibilities but I'm not so sure that the client is going to take so kindly to the pointing out of the animal Welfare Act ( just thinking of some clients I have come across) I think its the 'you must' bit - some people just object to being ordered and see it as a threat if that makes sense but other than that I would use it
