I'm 2 years qualified and just got a pay bump to £19,500, so more than that I would hope!!

I agree that £15K is VERY low.... I am on £23K a year and 40hour week with 1 in 3 weekends and no OOH.

I'm in Somerset and looking at the averages £18-21K seems to be the normal but this often includes OOH and regular weekends. I personally think this is too low anyway. Until we ask for what we think we are worth, will this ever change?

I think it varies hugely. I was on 15.5k 3 years ago in bristol. Then 16.5k in Wales. Currently on 19k but was offered a position in a hospital in Wales for 15k.

My wages went right up when I moved from Belfast to England. Was getting about £21,000 for emergency night work in Belfast a few years back. Be cheeky! If you have loads of experience you should ask for more...they'd be mad to turn you away for the sake of a few extra grand a year..

Thanks Welshy Nurse. I get the impression that salaries are quite similar in Wales and Nortern Ireland.

In my area you would be looking low end £17k. High £21k

Biggest Ive ever seen was a mahoosive £33k. Diploma, specialist. Otherwise I guess it depends on area of country, job role (Head Nurse, Referral work, OOH etc etc) and any other benefits offered on top of salary...

can u be a bit more specific?

As a generalisation I've seen salaries ranging from £18/19/20k lower end to a mid range £21-24/25k
