I would second creating a profile on LinkedIn - I get lots of different and interesting approaches even though I am not looking for a position! Just put yourself out there... you are an extremely valuable commodity!!

Definitely agree on just sending your CV out to anyone, as mentioned a lot of practices will get in touch or even if you ask them to hold onto it in case something comes up in the future. When I was looking for my current job I was on Indeed pretty much everyday looking for new listings and just applying for what came up, but also I started a LinkedIn profile after qualifying and yesterday had a message from someone telling me a job was available and was I interested.

It's worth checking individual practice websites, and the individual corporate websites (CVS, Vets4Pets, IVC) too.

To be honest, if you have a pretty clear idea of where in the country you want to be, it may be worth just sending your CV to local practices that you like the look of. Lots of practices are crying out for nurses and not all are advertising. Also on some sites you can put a situation wanted ad and wait for the jobs to come to you.... (obviously there is a chance that your current job might get wind of the fact you are looking so a bit of subtlety is sometimes required!)

Recruitment agencies will do some of the work for you but they do charge the practice a fee so you might be able to negotiate better pay if you find the job yourself.
