You can contact your local Police Controlled drugs liaison officer who will attend and witness destruction of any controlled drugs for you. You can find your local officer on the following website apcdlo.org.uk

It was easy to arrange a visit via email, came into the practice and destroyed the CDs for us. You just need to make sure you have a large enough destruction kit as they put the whole bottles in there as well as the drugs. They give you a copy of the form they fill out to confirm the destruction and also sign the CD register for you.

I am going to have a walk across the car park tomorrow and ask at the cop shop - seems daft not to now we are so close

We have a visiting orthopaedic vet from another practice who witnesses the disposal of our OOD Schd 2 when needed.

I was going to suggest asking another vet practice to witness your disposal and in return you could witness theirs. Failing that do you have any members of the local constabulary as clients?

Depends where you are i guess, we have police drug squad officers to come to dispose of schedule 2, we are in a large city though so that may not be such an available option for those who don't live in a place with significant drug problem
