I've been toying with the idea of locuming and was wondering, what your experiences have been with setting it all up and what route you would advise going down in terms of using an umbrella company etc? Thanks x

RE: Starting out as a Locum

Hi

an umbrella company sorts out your invoices and deducts your tax and ni and then pays you - after they take their fees off. Shop around as some charge more than others! There's a guide on here written by Alison with loads of useful tips, just search in the forum for past discussions as you should be able to find it.

good luck if you do decide to start locuming

RE: Starting out as a Locum

heya,

its great! I love going different places and seeing how others do thing in their practices. I use an umbrella company as I only locum part time so it wasn't worth me setting up a limited company. If you search the previous discussions on here there's loads of info about locuming.

good luck!
