Hiya

I have just googled on the dutch google site and read that a dutch pharmacy (probably on the veterinary university in Utrecht in Holland) makes it themselfs...
maybe there is a uni in the UK who does that too?
or if you want to know more about the one in Holland and need help, let me know.

Its for a dog with kcs which isnt responding very well to optimmune. Think the vet is thinking its an immune mediated problem and Im sure the tacrolimus works on the immune system. Not 100% sure though!!

Id never heard of it either, think its a fairly new treatjment and as far as we've found out we think its only available in america at the moment.

Thanks for that, trying to find it in an online pharmacy but lots of sites to trawl through and found one or two will only sell within canada or america.

The product is TACROLIMUS EYE OINTMENT 0.03%. May have trade name of protopic.
If any of you work with opthalmologists, have you ever seen this used?

We try to source our stuff on the net then apply for VMD license prior to order otherwise it's slapped wrists lol

A few years ago, I used to import cisapride for our bunnies & I had to apply for a special license from the VMD (I think but could be wrong). We had to pay an initial fee & then another fee each time we needed another bottle sent.

Because the amounts given to each animals was less than the bottle we imported, I had to fax a sheet every month with the names & address of all patient who had used it.

It wasn't difficult, as long as you followed all the rules they set to the absolute letter!! I think the law may have changed slightly since I last applied, so I would phone the VMD to double check.
